Create an email action
After certain conditions are met, send an automated email for a closed-loop customer experience.
- Click Create An Action to add an action to occur when the condition is met.
- In the Action Type list, select Send Email.

In the
Recipients field, enter the email address to
include, or click the
Insert Variable button to add a
data source variable or an
organizational hierarchy variable.

In the
Cc field, enter the email address to include,
or click the
Insert Variable button to add a
data source variable or an
organizational hierarchy variable.

In the
Bcc field, enter the email address to include,
or click the
Insert Variable button to add a
data source variable or an
organizational hierarchy variable.
- In the Subject field, type a subject line.
- Optional:
Add content to the email
Body field.
The email body can be formatted using the options on the email editor toolbar.
Option Description Block Type
Apply header types, code, or blockquotes. Bold
ItalicApply bold or italic formatting to the selected text. Unordered
OrderedFormat the text using bulleted or numbered lists. Indent
OutdentIndent or outdent a paragraph. Link
Insert a link or turn the selected text into a link. - Click the Link button.
- In the Link Title field, type in a name to display the link.
- In the Link Target field, enter in the website URL.
- Select Open link in new window.
- Click Add.
Unlink
Remove a link. Place the cursor in the link, and click Unlink. Undo
RedoUndo your last change or redo the previous action. Image
Insert an image in an email. - Click Image.
- In the File Upload dialog, click to upload or drop the file into the box.
- Optional: In the Height textbox, resize to a custom height.
- Optional: In the Width textbox, resize to a custom width.
- Click Add.
Note:- Image sizes are in pixels.
- The maximum file size is 5 MB.
- Supported formats are BMP, FIF, GIF, ICO, IEF, JPG, JPEG, PICT, PNG, RAS, RGB, XBM,XPM, or XWD.
- Image file names cannot contain special characters (#, @, !, %, $, *, &).
After uploading the image, hover over the image to see the following options:
- L: Indent the image to the left.
- C: Center the image.
- R: Indent the image to the right.
To delete the image, select completely highlight the image from the top of the image to the bottom and press Backspace.
Insert Variable
Pipe in data from activities, profile variables, integrations, and organizational hierarchies with a data source variable or an organizational hierarchy variable. - Click Save.

When you are ready to enable the rule, click
Draft > Enable
Now.
- Optional:
To disable an enabled rule, click
Enabled > Disabled.
